      Description

      What is Vitamin D3?

Vitamin D plays a critical role in calcium absorption, muscle function, immune support, and the maintenance of healthy bones and teeth. It’s often referred to as the “sunshine vitamin,” is synthesized when skin is exposed to sunlight, however research shows that your body's capacity to effectively make vitamin D falls by more than 50% between the ages of 20 and 80.

In the UK, sunlight is not strong enough to produce adequate vitamin D between October and March, and modern indoor lifestyles further contribute to widespread insufficient levels, even during summer months.

As many as one in five individuals therefore have insufficient levels of vitamin D and the NHS advises that adults require at least 10 micrograms (mcg) of vitamin D daily to maintain optimal health. This recommendation is especially important for those at increased risk of low levels such as pregnant and breastfeeding women.

      Why is ours better?

Unlike some vitamin D supplements, we use vitamin D3, which is the form our bodies are most able to process. Each tablet contains 10 µg (400 iu) − the daily amount officially recommended for every adult.

      Who is this for?

Vitamin D 10µg is ideal for those who need to maintain healthy body levels of vitamin D. The NHS recommends that everyone should consider taking a vitamin D supplement in winter and that people at greater risk of low levels should do so all year round.
